NOT JUST PRETTY PHOTOS

the HONEST VERSION
I wrote this section four times.
The first version said my photography was "timeless and refined." The second said I "craft visual narratives." The third mentioned "heirloom-quality images" and honestly, I don't know what that means either.
Here's the version I'm keeping.
I photograph weddings because I'm obsessed with the things people do when they think nobody's looking.
The way a groom keeps touching his ring like he can't believe it's real.
The way a mother holds her daughter's face for one second too long.
The way a whole room goes quiet at exactly the same moment during the vows.
That's what I photograph. The unperformed version.
No adjectives necessary.

I don't photograph weddings for Instagram.
I don't photograph them for Pinterest.
I don't even photograph them for the week you get the gallery and send it to everyone you know.
I photograph them for the Tuesday in November, years from now, when you're flipping through a drawer and a single image stops you mid-breath.
That's who the work is for.
